Current Obsession: Cynthia Vincent

I LOVE almost everything from New York designer, Cynthia Vincent, and her 12th Street label.

Red...

Love these patent and suede pumps!

Just $128 at the fabulous new-ish San Francisco boutique, Anica.

Silver...

Today marks the official beginning of Spring, and that's of course reason enough to buy an extremely impractical pair of silver strappy sandals.

I love these JC's via Nordstrom ($72.95). Vaguely geriatric - like, my Jewish bubby at the Palm Grove singles mixer, Tampa, Florida, circa '79. Rad.

Against all better judgement...

I'm actually considering buying a pair of ridiculously fugly MBT shoes like these:

Supposedly, they help correct back pain and mimic the feel of walking in sand to strengthen core muscles, inner thighs, etc.

Ballet, sans eating disorder...

Not counting some totally horrifying late 80s moments in bad dance costumes (parachute pants plus high-top aqua Reeboks for an outdoor performance to "Cold-Hearted Snake" at Sea World circa '89 - not cute), I kind of loved my years and years spent in cut-off tights, leotards, and ballet slippers, despite the negative body image issues that only a decade of therapy can delete. Damn.

Anyway, now that dancer chic is in, thanks to the waves of 80s nostalgia propagated by 16-year-old hipsters who weren't even born until grunge was basically over, I'm totally into ballet flats as my day shoe of choice. I especially like the "authentic" versions from Repetto and Bloch...

These ones are only $88 from Urban Outfitters...

Spring up your step...

with super cute confetti peep toe heels from Le Train Bleu. I love these, and at $68, that barely registers a difference in my obscene credit card debt. It's, like, half a month's interest, so what the hell?

Am I crazy?

Or are these jazz-ish shoes actually kind of cute? Damn you, Topshop, and your new "shipping to the US" thing!
