Nice Stems

For the last few weeks, I have had a lot of time on my hands. Work is slow, I've been socially reclusive, etc. So- I've been overhauling my life on the internet.

The fish look sad? Buy 'em a cool new tank! San Francisco is cold? Shop for vacation packages on Orbitz! Anthropologie has a million adorbale summer dresses? Buy sandals to go with them!

Seriously though. It is a question that resurfaces every summer: which sandals are the perfect ones to wear with a summer dress? Ones that are colorful, comfortable, cute, styley and make your ankles looks slender. I believe the below options suffice. All from that eternal source of must-have fashion: Anthropologie.

Marc does it again

Seriously, Marc, you're killing me! It's one fabulous piece after another...

For the Boys

I've noticed a disturbing new trend among my more fashionable male friends: they've become shoe whores. Unreasonably large collections of Dunks, Off-the-Walls and other retro favorites make me feel a lot better about myself and the ungodly mountain of shoes I've accumulated myself.

Anyways...my roommate is quite possibly the snappiest-dressing straight man alive, and he inspires me to drop bills on seriously fabulous pieces that neither of us can afford. He'd definitely go for these baby blue sneaks. I love them!

Best of...Piperlime Spring 2007

First of all, I love any shoe site that offers a huge hi-lo mix of shoes, targeting both black AMEX-flashing silver spooners and discerning bargain shoppers. Zappos.com and shoes.com both pale in comparison to the relatively new piperlime.com, with its sleek, user-friendly design and great selection of kicks for just about any shopper.

Here are my best-of picks from their Spring 2007 Hot Trends selection:

1. Mia Sophie wedges, $75; 2. Bandolino Yella low heels, $65; 3. Tribeca by Kenneth Cole Grand Central platform heels, $60; 4. daniblack Gates embellished thongs, $100; 5. Report Signature Xanadu flats, $175; 6. Hollywould Belaire laser-cut heels, $400; 7. Bettye Muller Nest yellow patent t-strap flats, $310; 8. Chinese Laundry Buscana emerald green slingbacks, $60; 9. N.Y.L.A. Marcia Green/Aqua 2-toned (Prada knockoff) ballet flats, $65

Slutty or Cute?

I think I love these mirror-heeled patent leather peep toes from Dolce Vita. Kinda slutty, kind of pretty at the same time. Very Michelle Pfieffer circa Scarface. Yes?

I love NYC in the Springtime....

Except I really don't. It's freezing cold, pouring rain and I can't even wear the adorable halter dresses that I bought on sale at Anthropologie yesterday. In defiance of Mother Nature, and in support of this Spring's adorable Nautical look, I post the following shoesies from Urban Outfitters:

Pre-2K Flashback

I've come to the depressing realization that I'm now old enough to have seen trends come, go, and come back again. Take these chunky wedge/platforms, for example. They remind me of sophomore year of high school (circa '96-'97)...think East Coast-West Coast beef, Titanic, Hmmm-Bop and the beginnings of boy band hell, Semi-Charmed Life, Cruel Intentions, Dawson's Creek...oh to be 15, in horrible chunky platform shoes with a bad post-grunge wardrobe and acne.

Anyways, platforms are back, love them or hate them...
